Over 200 cruise ships are set to berth at Grenada’s ports during the 2022–2023 season, which will draw thousands of cruise ship tourists to the island.

On October 21, 2022, a ceremony at the Melville Street Cruise Ship Terminal will welcome the Royal Caribbean cruise ship “Celebrity Summit,” signaling the start of the season. Lennox Andrews, the minister of tourism, will speak at the event.

Celebrity Summit will arrive at 7:00 am and depart at 3:00 pm, carrying 2,590 guests and 997 crew members. The second ship will be the Seven Seas Navigator of Norwegian Cruise Line, berthing on 30 October. It has a passenger capacity of 3,078 and a crew of 1,205.

There are 202 scheduled calls, 12 of which are inaugural calls, during the entire season, which runs until May 2023. There will be four inaugural calls each in November and December, two in January, and the final two in March and May 2023.

In terms of how many calls will come in each month, there will be two in October, twenty in November, and forty-three in December.

In 2023, there will be 36 and 47 in January and February, 41 on March, 12 in April, and one in May. The World Traveller of Mystic Cruise will arrive in May. This will be the ship’s first and only visit to the island for the 2022-2023 season. It can hold up to 200 people and 100 crew members.

Meanwhile, Carriacou will have nine calls from cruise ships this season, bringing 1,268 passengers and 1,116 crew members. The busiest day will be January 6, 2023, when the Holland America Cruise Line ship Seabourn Ovation arrives with 650 passengers and 450 crew.

The 2022/2023 cruise season is expected to bring 508,960 passengers to Grenada. Of that number, 377,394 will be passengers, while 131,566 will be crew members. (https://thecaribbeannewsnow.com/more-than-200-ships-scheduled-for-grenadas-2022-2023-cruise-season/)
