Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. (BTMI) was honoured to be named, Best Tourist Board, at the recently concluded Travel Weekly’s 2022 Globe Travel Awards Ceremony.
On Tuesday, March 15, BTMI’s Senior Business Development Officer, Marc McCollin, accepted the prestigious award during a ceremony in London’s Grosvenor House Hotel, amongst hundreds of travel industry peers.
The Travel Weekly Globe Travel Awards are voted for by UK travel agents making it one of the most respected awards within the British travel industry.
Commenting on the accolade, BTMI’s Director of United Kingdom and Ireland, Cheryl Carter, said “We are delighted to be awarded Best Tourist Board at the 2022 Globe Travel Awards. It is a true honour to have been chosen as the winner in this category by the British travel trade.”
She added: “We take pride in the work we do with both travel trade and media, promoting our beautiful island and showcasing all it has to offer to British and Irish visitors through a creative and engaging activity.”
Barbados bested destinations such as Dubai, Canada, Jamaica, and Malta in this category, further demonstrating BTMI’s hard work and dedication to promoting the gem of the Caribbean across the UK. (GIS)
