LATAM Brasil has plans to expand to five more destinations this year.
LATAM Brasil inaugurated service to Sinop in the State of Mato Grosso on Tuesday. The flight was significant for the airline because it marked the milestone of LATAM Brasil’s 50th domestic destination.
LATAM Brasil reaches 50 destinations
On Tuesday night, LATAM Airlines flight 3814 took off from Brasília, the capital of Brazil, and headed for Sinop. The flight took off at 22:24 local time (9 minutes behind schedule) at 85% capacity and landed in Sinop at 22:53 local time (12 minutes ahead of schedule). LATAM will service the route daily on its Airbus A319 aircraft and expects that it will see more than 75% capacity on the first 15 days of the new route. LATAM Brasil’s A319 has a capacity for 140 passengers, 8 in premium economy and 132 in regular economy. The return flight from Sinop will operate as LA3815 and will depart daily at 04:50 local time and land in Brasília at 07:30.
To celebrate the historic landmark of 50 destinations reached, LATAM Brasil offered every passenger on LA3814 10,000 LATAM Pass points. LATAM Pass is LATAM’s frequent flyer program where passengers can earn points and exchange them for airfare, travel packages, and make purchases at select stores in Brazil.
Growth in Brazil
This is the first of six confirmed new destinations for LATAM Brasil this year, bringing LATAM Brasil to 50 domestic destinations. Before the pandemic in 2019, LATAM Brasil only served 44 cities in Brazil. LATAM Brasil is investing in its growth and restructuring plan after becoming more efficient and competitive in the Brazilian market.
The commencement of the route Brasília-Sinop shows once more that we continue to observe our clients’ needs and the opportunities available on the market. Although taxes have been a challenge in the last few months, we have stood firm in our investment plan in the Brasilian aviation sector, where we have reached 50 airports served in all of the country. This is the largest number of destinations served in LATAM Brasil’s history.”- Aline Mafra – Director of Sales and Marketing, LATAM Brasil
In the second half of 2021, LATAM Brasil began serving Comandatuba and Vitória da Conquista (state of Bahia), Jericoacoara (state of Ceará), Juazeiro do Norte (state of Ceará), and Petrolina (state of Pernambuco). In 2022, the airlines’ new destinations will be Montes Claros and Juiz de Fora (state of Minas Gerais), Cascavel (state of Paraná), Caxias do Sul (state of Rio Grande do Sul), and Presidente Prudente (state of São Paulo).
