The United Kingdom is the third largest source market for travelers to Costa Rica from Europe.
With the aim of attracting and increasing the number of European tourists, the Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT), together with 45 Costa Rican tourism companies, is participating this week in the World Travel Market fair, known as WTM London, one of the most important in the world.
WTM London is celebrating its 45th anniversary as the ideal platform for promoting destinations and networking for participating companies, bringing together ministers and industry leaders, with capacity increased by 25% more than usual this year.
Costa Rica will be present with a 276-square-meter stand located at the Excel London Convention and Exhibition Center, where visitors will receive information about the country and also enjoy coffee thanks to barista Gabriel Abarca from the Costa Rican Coffee Institute (ICAFE), who will be giving demonstrations of the various ways to prepare this delicious beverage.
In addition, in keeping with the Pura Vida motto and reconnecting with the essentials of life, visitors will have access to a relaxation area decorated with elements of Costa Rican nature, related to the wellness tourism they can enjoy in Costa Rica.
“WTM is one of the most important fairs in the world, the last major tourism fair of the year, and an opportunity for Costa Rica to encourage European tourists to choose our country as their vacation destination and thus continue to bring social progress to communities,” said William Rodríguez, Minister of Tourism.
Between January and September of this year, we have had 54,380 visitors from the United Kingdom, making it the third largest source market for travelers from Europe, behind Germany and France.
The 45 Costa Rican companies participating in the Costa Rica stand represent the car rental, tour operator, hotel, and adventure activity subsectors, among others.
