Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic announced that Puerto Plata will receive 54 cruise ship calls in April 2026, highlighting the sustained growth of cruise tourism in the country’s northern region. The arrivals will be distributed between Amber Cove with 19 operations and Taíno Bay with 35.

Tourism Minister David Collado stated that the positive performance of the cruise segment is the result of a strategy focused on planning, operational monitoring, and continuous improvement of visitor services. This approach has strengthened the Dominican Republic’s competitiveness as a cruise destination in the Caribbean.

Local tourism authorities also emphasized that the April schedule allows for better operational planning, enabling efficient management of passenger flows and improved coordination among port operators, tour providers, and government institutions.

The projected volume of cruise arrivals is expected to enhance service efficiency, optimize visitor experiences, and support local economic activity. With consistent planning and strong institutional coordination, Puerto Plata continues to consolidate its position as a leading cruise tourism hub in the Caribbean region.
