Discover Dominica Authority is pleased to announce the addition of new and expanded air travel services to the island nation. This expansion encompasses the recently introduced WINAIR flights connecting Dominica and Martinique and the supplementary Saturday flight incorporated into American Airlines recently declared daily winter service between Dominica and Miami. These give passengers increased flexibility and connectivity on their journeys to and from Dominica.

In response to the demands of its passengers, WINAIR has strategically adjusted its flight timetables to include direct flights between Douglas–Charles Airport, Dominica (DOM) and Fort-de-France, Martinique (FDF) for the first time in over a decade. The flights depart Martinique for Dominica at 6:15 pm and 7:00 pm on Wednesdays and Sundays, respectively, and return flights from Dominica to Martinique at 7:30 am and 08:15 am on Thursdays and Mondays. The preliminary timetable accommodates passengers desiring direct voyages between Martinique and Dominica while enabling convenient connections to prominent locations, including Miami, Paris, and Toronto, thus substantially enriching the overall travel experience.

Sunday service will be supplemented between December 7, 2024, and March 31, 2025, when American Airlines will introduce an additional flight from Miami to Dominica. At 10:05 am, flights will depart Miami (MIA) for Dominica (DOM); at 2:25 pm, they will touch down. Including an additional Saturday flight in the winter season broadens the range of travel options and enhances the daily flight, providing even more possibilities for individuals enthusiastic about exploring the allure and hospitality of Dominica.

Dominica has achieved a significant milestone in terms of economic and social benefits with the implementation of these services. The Minister for Tourism, the Honorable Denise Charles-Pemberton, expresses her elation regarding the consequences of these improvements, stating, “The introduction of WINAIR’s direct flights connecting Fort-de-France, Martinique, and Dominica, as well as American Airlines’ supplementary Saturday flight from Miami to Dominica, go beyond mere air accessibility enhancements.”

Charles-Pemberton added that the expansion represents collective endeavors to establish a prosperous future for Dominica. These newly established connections facilitate wider avenues for tourism, stimulate our economy, and unite various cultures.

“This technological progression is anticipated to improve significantly the quality of travel experiences within and outside the Caribbean region, thereby creating fresh prospects for international business ventures and tourism. I enthusiastically advise all individuals to take advantage of this opportunity to visit Dominica and partake in its remarkable splendor, dynamic civilization, and exceptional magnanimity, for which the island is renowned. In addition to the flight expansions, the mega infrastructure Dominica International Airport Project is underway with rapid progress in the runway construction through its developer MMC Development Ltd, and its contractor, China Railway No 5.
