The municipality of Tulum has been awarded the best beach destination in Mexico and Central America. On Sunday, the Dirección General de Turismo y Economía de Tulum announced the award.
“Tulum, the tourist jewel of Mexico, shines at the World Travel Awards 2023. Once again, Tulum is awarded as the best leading beach destination in Mexico and Central America at the World Travel Awards 2023 ceremony held August 26 on the Caribbean Island of Saint Lucia.
“Thanks to the support of the SRE of the Government of Mexico, the award was received by the Hon. Ambassador of Mexico in the Caribbean area Luis Manuel López Moreno and by the Head of Foreign Affairs Luis Antonio Medina Romero on behalf of the municipal president of Tulum Diego Castañón Trejo.
“From the General Directorate of Tourism and Economy of the H. Tulum City Hall we congratulate and thank all the people and companies that are part of the hotel, restaurant, commercial and artisanal offer of the destination for contributing to make Tulum shine once again at the “Tourism Oscars”,” they wrote.

The Embajada de México en Santa Lucía (Embassy of Mexico in Saint Lucia) also said “We are excited to share the wonderful news that Tulum has been honored with the title of “Beach Destination Leader in Mexico and Central America” at the 30th annual World Travel Awards!
