The Guatemalan Institute of Tourism -INGUAT- is proud to announce that Guatemala has been selected as one of the 24 best destinations to visit in 2024 by “Condé Nast Traveler”, a prestigious travel magazine recognized worldwide.

In its analysis, the magazine highlights the historical, cultural, and natural richness that Guatemala offers to travelers from all over the world. The special mention focuses on the unique experience of exploring the Mayan city of Tikal, surrounded by lush jungle, a captivating archaeological gem with a thousand-year-old history.

The note also invited visitors to visit the Tak’alik Ab’aj National Archaeological Park, which testifies to the transition from the Olmec culture to the birth of the Mayan culture, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO on September 18 of this year. In addition, it highlights the importance of the opening of emblematic places such as the National Museum of Art of Guatemala (MUNAG) in La Antigua Guatemala.  The publication also highlights the significant growth of air tourism to Guatemala, where airlines such as Alaska and Delta are increasing their services, inaugurating new routes, and increasing the frequency of flights, which will facilitate access to this impressive destination.

Condé Nast Traveler is an iconic, world-renowned travel magazine dedicated to exploring the most exclusive and exciting destinations on the planet. His select criteria and ability to discover the extraordinary in travel, make him a benchmark in the tourism industry. The combination of a deep-rooted history, astonishing natural beauty, and a growing tourism infrastructure, including a variety of restaurants, hotels, and tours, makes 2024 the ideal time to thoroughly explore what Guatemala, Amazing and Unstoppable, has to offer.

“Guatemala offers an unparalleled combination of history, natural beauty, and unique cultural experiences, making it the ideal destination for travelers from all over the world,” said the INGUAT authorities, highlighting the honor that this recognition represents by a publication as important as Condé Nast Traveler.
