Carnival Cruises is once again extending a pause of operations further into 2021.

This week, the cruise company announced more itinerary cancellations this week that will affect Holland America, Princess Cruises, Carnival, and P&O cruises well into the spring and fall months of this year — on top of the fact that the cruise line’s U.S. operations are paused until March 31.

Canceled cruises include those aboard the Carnival Freedom through April 10 and the Carnival Miracle through Sept. 16. Other cruises aboard Carnival’s Liberty, Canaveral, and Sunshine ships are canceled later in the year, due to dry dock work or international cruise limitations.

“We are sorry to disappoint our guests, as we can see from our booking activity that there is clearly a pent-up demand for cruising on Carnival,” Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line, said in a statement on Wednesday. “We appreciate their patience and support as we continue to work on our plans to resume operations in 2021 with a gradual, phased in approach.”

All Holland America cruises through April 30 are canceled, according to a press release, in addition to all Alaska cruises through mid-May. On routes to Alaska, cruises aboard the Eurodam, Oosterdam and Zuiderdam cruise ships are canceled through the first week of June, cruises aboard the Koningsdam, Nieuw Amsterdam, and Noordam ships are canceled through mid-May. Mediterranean cruises aboard the Volendam and Westerdam ships are canceled through early June. And in Canada and New England, Zaandam cruises are canceled through August.

Princess Cruises has announced an extension to its cruise pause, now lasting through May 14. It will impact sailings in the Caribbean, California Coast, Alaska and Europe.

“We appreciate the patience from our loyal guests and travel advisors as we work to meet the health and safety requirements for our return to service,” Jan Swartz, president of Princess Cruises, said in a statement. “We continue to prepare our ships for our return to service and we are eager to see our guests back on board to create summertime memories.”

P&O Cruises Australia has already canceled several voyages for 2021 and announced that the cancellations would extend to voyages from New Zealand until April 25.

All passengers whose cruises are affected will be contacted with information about how to apply for a refund or rebook their itinerary with a Future Cruise Credit. (https://www.travelandleisure.com/cruises/carnival-is-cancelling-cruises-onboard-several-ships-into-early-2021)
