Nicaraguan Minister of Tourism Anasha Campbell assured today at the IFTM Top Resa travel and tourism trade fair in this capital that her country represents a safe and authentic destination, marked by the hospitality of its inhabitants.
We participate in this fair to promote a destination of great natural and cultural wealth, but also very tranquil for visitors, who meet people who open their arms and make them feel at home, she said in an interview with Prensa Latina on the opening day of the main event for tourism professionals in France.
According to the official, Nicaragua is the safest nation in Central America and one of the safest in Latin America, a scenario recognized by the World Economic Forum and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.
That is why we come here to invite agents, tour operators and citizens to get to know our reality, which is totally different to the negative image that some media and interests are determined to spread, she said at the Expo Porte de Versailles , where the fair will run until Friday.
Campbell mentioned among Nicaragua’s attractions its biodiversity, protected areas, colonial cities, Caribbean and Pacific beaches, rivers, waterfalls, lagoons and rainforest.
She also highlighted the 27 volcanoes located in its geography, seven of them active, a natural beauty multiplied by the rich culture and the mixture of indigenous, Afro-Caribbean and European heritage, which explains the varied gastronomic tradition that visitors cannot resist.
But beyond these charms, the kindness and hospitality of the Nicaraguan people stands out, she insisted. (PL)
