Madelyn Moore named among the Central American and Caribbean’s elite. The Bermudian earned an honourable mention in Swim Swam’s annual awards in acknowledgement of a phenomenal campaign last year which saw her produce a string of victories, personal best times and school and national records while competing for the University of Northern Colorado and Bermuda. The 21-year-old stamped her authority at the 2021 Central American and Caribbean Amateur Swimming Confederation Championships in Puerto Rico, where she secured gold medals in the 18 and over 50- and 100-meters freestyle and 50- and 100-meters butterfly events respectively. Moore’s winning time of 1min 2.21secs in the 100 butterflies was a personal best and Bermuda national record. Her time of 27:12 on the way to victory in the 50 butterflies was also a personal best, both meet and Bermuda records, and qualified her for the B standard for the 2022 FINA World Championships in Japan.
