Nicaragua has just begun the Covid-19 vaccination campaign, as announced by Vice President Rosario Murillo.
Immunization will benefit -as a priority- patients suffering from kidney, oncological and heart conditions, the vice president said Monday.
Nicaragua received the first batch of Sputnik V vaccine doses on February 24, a donation from Russia, of which the total amount was not detailed at that time.
For next Saturday, March 6, a new batch of 200,000 Indian vaccine doses will be arriving in the Central American country.
Murillo thanked the Russian Fund for Direct Investment and India for such solidarity with the Nicaraguan people. She also announced that Nicaragua will be receiving quite soon another batch of 130,000 vaccine doses from the Gavi-Covax mechanism in cooperation with the World Health Organizations and the Pan American Health Organization.
