Cuba vaccinated 60.6 percent of its entire population (just over 11 million 180 thousand) with the complete anti-Covid-19 plan, the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap) reported today.
In total, 6,777,771 inhabitants of the island have already received the three doses included in the national immunization program, a figure that includes those convalescing from the disease, to whom an injection of the Soberana Plus vaccine is administered.
The above number represents 69.2 percent of people without any health problem and with all the possibilities to receive the Cuban drugs Soberana 02, Soberana Plus or Abdala.
At least 9,713,978 Cubans received the first dose (86.8 percent of the entire population of the country and 99.2 percent of those eligible for vaccination), according to the data presented by the Director of Epidemiology of Minsap, Francisco Durán.
Of these, there are 8 million 239 thousand 660 (73.3 percent of the total population) with a second dose applied and 6 million 510 thousand 952 (58.2 percent) with a third dose.
The doctor specified that the target personnel involved in the campaign applied a total of 24 million 464 thousand 590 doses.
With such data, the Antillean nation remains in first place in Latin America in anti-Covid-19 immunization, while 47.6 percent of the world population received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
