The Dominican Government announced the successful completion of humanitarian aid deliveries to Jamaica and Cuba under Operation “Caribbean Solidarity”, following the instructions of President Luis Abinader. The initiative reflects the country’s commitment to assisting Caribbean nations affected by Hurricane Melissa.
The operation was coordinated by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Defense, and Public Health, alongside DASAC and PROMESE/CAL, to ensure a swift and effective response. The shipment—transported by Air Force and Navy vessels and aircraft—included food, medicine, mattresses, mosquito nets, hygiene kits, and other essential supplies. These were received by local authorities in both nations and distributed to the most affected communities.
Operation “Caribbean Solidarity” stands as a milestone in Dominican foreign and defense policy, highlighting the nation’s growing capacity to mobilize humanitarian and logistical support across the region. The government emphasized that this initiative strengthens the Dominican Republic’s leadership in regional cooperation, reaffirming its commitment to solidarity, peace, and Caribbean integration.
