Cuba. On January 6-7, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parilla participated in the 22nd Summit of Foreign Ministers of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States, an event held in Argentina, the country that holds the Pro-Tempo presidency for the next two years.

Cuba’s foreign minister, during his speech, insisted on his country’s will to preserve the declaration of Latin America and the Caribbean region of peace, support and solidarity with Argentina, while declaring the International Monetary Fund soliciting a fraudulent debt inherited from the previous government. He also expressed his support for the just claim of the Latin American country of the Malvinas Islands and their marine areas.

Rodriguez Parilla acknowledged the role Mexico played during his tenure as president of the regional body, and highlighted his activism in addressing critical problems in the region.

At the end of his speech, the Cuban Foreign Minister chose to continue to work on the consolidation of regional unity and the Caribbean, as well as the revitalization of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States, at a time when it was necessary to unite efforts to combat the epidemic and the interventionist aspirations of the United States.
