Haitian President Jovenel Moïse on Tuesday condemned the clashes among armed criminal gangs in this capital, as a result of which local residents had to flee from their residences, and described the situation as a terrifying trauma.
The president noted that he had instructed the police to stop the escalation of violence and build people’s trust.
On Monday, armed men attacked the commune of Bel Air, in downtown Port-au-Prince, very close of the National Palace, and burned several houses and opened fire indiscriminately.
According to local media, several people were killed and others were injured in the crossed fire. (PL)
