Piña Colada Music Festival begins in Cuban territory. The 22nd “Piña Colada” Festival, created by popular singer Arnaldo Rodriguez, begins in the central Cuban province of Ciego de Avila with artists from several countries under the slogan “Culture, tradition and modernity”.  With the pineapple already chopped ready for the best musical cocktail, mixed with timba, pop, salsa, rock, the 2025 edition will take place until April 6 and will celebrate the birthdays of key Cuban organizations in the social life of nationals, such as the one that governs the island’s youth and that of the schoolchildren of the first and second education. This year’s festival will also dedicate a space to the 150th anniversary of the first crossing of the Trocha de Júcaro a Morón, a fortified military line built between 1869 and 1872 in Cuba to prevent the passage of insurgent forces to the western part of the island during the Ten Years’ War (1868-1878). This crossing had an extension of 68 kilometers, and ran between the south and north of the island, from Júcaro to Morón, and every year the event celebrates the fact of the 19th century in Cuba as part of the history of our country. “Piña Colada” has jumped from having music as the main element to other expressions of popular culture, among them, theater, dance, Rodriguez said.
