FIART 2025, a major event for craftsmanship in Cuba, opens. The 27th International Crafts Fair, FIART 2025, officially opens on Friday at the Cultural Station on Linea Street and 18th Street, in the capital’s municipality of Vedado, boasting a larger turnout than last year’s event.  Open to fairgoers from December 6 to 21, the event will deliver the Lifetime Achievement Award to seven outstanding Cuban artisans and artists this Friday, as well as a fashion show and a performance by pianist Alejandro Falcon and Rumba band Los Muñequitos de Matanzas. This year’s fair will include 151 exhibitors from Cuba and creators from Ecuador, Colombia, India, Mexico, Panama, Peru, and Venezuela.  Martha Ibis Sanchez, director of the Cuban Fund for Cultural Assets (FCBC), told reporters that major projects in environmental design and craftsmanship of high artistic standard will also be present. Sanchez noted that a distinctive element is to revive the dedication to the Cuban provinces in this edition, where the public could enjoy authentic offerings, including marblework from Granma, fiber art from Las Tunas, and ceramic creations from Trinidad.
