In a statement on Wednesday morning, the organization said the safety and well-being of the reigning queens, contestants, staff, and loyal supporters are of the utmost importance. It noted that the grand coronation will still take place and said stakeholders will be promptly notified of a new date once it is confirmed. Jamaica declared disaster area; islandwide curfew to be imposed Wednesday.
