Cuba to host an international symposium on City Management. With the participation of 130 professionals, including 11 Cuban and foreign experts from France, Mexico, Uruguay, and Ecuador, the 16th International Symposium on Challenges to City Management and Administration will be held in the province of Camagüey on February 1 and 2. This event stands out among the main activities of the Camagüey Culture Week for its scope in scientific, cultural, and patrimonial activities where prestigious academic institutions will share their experiences. According to José Rodríguez Barreras, director of the Office of the Historian of the City of Camagüey (OHCC), the meeting, which has been organized in very difficult circumstances, will include a tribute to [late Historian of Havana] Eusebio Leal Spengler, who often visited and envisioned projects for this region. The program also features the presentation of the Fulgencio Arambula Public Alarife Award to persons and institutions significantly devoted to the implementation of actions and projects to protect the city’s old section, as well as the exhibition Retablo de ciudad, during which 18 children involved in the project “Aulas Patrimoniales” will describe every piece on display and talk about its creator.
