2024 Dominica World Creole Music Festival officially launched. The 24th edition of the World Creole Music Festival (WCMF) was officially inaugurated at the Realm. The Windsor Park Sports Stadium will host a three-day festival of pulsating rhythm from October 25-27, 2024, that will showcase various musical genres each night. The inaugural phase of the WCMF lineup was announced. It featured the legendary group Kassav, the energetic soca diva Nadia Batson from Trinidad and Tobago, and the Jamaican dancehall sensation Valiant. It was a favourite of many. The additional artists for the festival will be disclosed at a later date. According to Tourism Minister Denise Charles Pemberton, the WCMF has become a global favourite not only because of the loyal consumers who return annually but also because of the new visitors who partake in the unparalleled entertainment, Bouyoun music, and cultural explosion. The Minister expressed her appreciation to the government of Dominica, the headline sponsor. “Our headline sponsor, the government of Dominica, has invested approximately $12 million in an investment that generates a multiplying effect of $7 for every dollar spent.” She then expressed gratitude to the cooperating partners who work in conjunction with the government and contribute to the expansion and enhancement of the WCMF annually.
