Where is Paul McCartney’s original bass with the Beatles? Start global search. The German manufacturer of musical instruments Höfner has begun the global search for the original bass of ex-Beatle Paul McCartney, considered one of the most emblematic objects, British media reported on Sunday. Under the headline of “The Lost Bass Project”, the manufacturer requests information to find the musical instrument, which McCartney bought in the German city of Hamburg in 1961 for 30 pounds (34.8 euros), but was lost years later. Nick Bass, who worked for several years as Höfner’s marketing manager, leads this search project to try to solve the “greatest mystery in the history of rock and roll”, notes the BBC. Wass told the station that McCartney asked him about the guitar during a recent conversation and thus began the campaign to find it.
