New Cuban website addresses cultural colonization. The Havana-based cultural institution Casa de las Americas inaugurated a blog named Sembrar Ideas (Sowing Ideas), which will gather texts about the debates related to the Cuban program to fight cultural colonization, the president of the Havana-based cultural institution, Abel Prieto said on Thursday. On his Twitter account, the intellectual wrote that the new website arises from the document Sembrar Ideas, Sembrar Conciencia (Sowing Ideas, Sowing Awareness), a Cuban proposal to promote exchanges from left-wing and progressive movements against colonization. The program was presented during the celebrations on Jose Marti’s 170th birthday and is based on a call from the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, to respond with the weapons of ideas and awareness to the aggressiveness of the Government of the United States against Cuba.
