Beyoncé Is Now the Most-Awarded Artist in Grammys History. It’s official: Beyoncé is now the most awarded musician in Grammy Awards history. The global superstar broke the all-time record (previously held by the late orchestral conductor Sir Georg Solti) after winning the award for Best Dance/Electronic Album at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday night. She was accompanied by her husband, rapper and mogul Jay Z for the evening, who before tonight, she previously was tied with for being the two most Grammy nominated artists of all time. Beyoncé recognized the magnitude of the moment during her acceptance speech, saying, “I ‘m trying not to get too emotional. I ‘m trying to just receive this night,” she said while visibly emotional. “I want to thank God for protecting me. Thank you, God. I’d like to thank my Uncle Johnny who’s not here, but he’s here in spirit.” She also thanked her family and went on to acknowledge the queer community who heavily influenced her seventh studio album.
