Textile manufacturing company Pinehurst MFG has put into operation a 1,687.2-kWp array to power its facilities in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.
German solar inverter maker SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92), through its subsidiary SMA America, supplied the inverters, it announced last week. Central American company Advanced Energy was in charge of the engineering, procurement, construction (EPC) work.
Specifically, Pinehurst’s system is comprised of 4,440 solar panels and 21 SMA Sunny Tripower CORE1 62.5 kW inverters, allowing the array to generate an estimated 2,500,000 kWh annually.
With this new solar system, Pinehurst MFG lowers its energy costs and reduces its carbon footprint at the same time, SMA noted. (https://renewablesnow.com/news/clothing-maker-pinehurst-powers-honduran-facilities-with-solar-array-704336/)
