The International Tourism Fair, FitCuba 2024, will take place from May 2 to 5 in the Jardines del Rey tourist hub, in the Sabana-Camagüey Archipelago, one of the most incredible places in the Caribbean, with 40 kilometers of paradisiacal beaches and more than 10 thousand rooms in about 30 hotels, apart-hotels, houses, and bungalows.

On this occasion, FitCuba 2024 will be dedicated to Latin America and the Caribbean and will feature the participation of important tour operators, travel agencies, hotel groups, airlines, transporters, sector professionals, and specialized press from various countries around the world. Like every year, this event, the most important in the tourism industry of Cuba and the Caribbean, aims to show all the potential and strengths that Destination Cuba has focused on its beaches, nature, culture, gastronomy, health and wellness proposals. the kindness of its people, something that characterizes it internationally.

On the Cuban side, important Cuban hotel chains, such as Gran Caribe, Islazul, Grupo Gaviota, Cubanacan Hoteles, incoming hotels such as Havanatur and Cubatur, service providers such as Palmares, Transtur, and Caracol, among others, which will show visitors the best tourist destinations and Cuban products.

Proposals from foreign hotel chains will also be present, which for years have been committed to tourism in Cuba, such as Meliá Hotels, Blue Diamond Resorts, Kempinski Hotels, Barceló, and Roc Hotels, among others.

The COVID-19 pandemic brought a significant contraction in international tourism and Cuba did not escape this reality; however, in recent years it has been experiencing growth worldwide. In Cuba, the year 2023 ended with the arrival of some 2.4 million visitors and it is projected to end 2024 with an estimated three million visitors if the increase in air connectivity that was also affected during the pandemic years is achieved. Despite the efforts made by the island’s tourist authorities, the US blockade policy is maintained, preventing North Americans from traveling to Cuba, in addition to hindering the financial transactions that are generated as a result of trade agreements between the Cuban authorities and the foreign tour operators.

Cuba is going through a difficult economic situation, however, FitCuba 2024 will show visitors the island’s tourism strengths, demonstrating the will to develop prosperous and sustainable tourism, as an important avenue for social and economic development.
