With the presence of an important group of Mexican Travel Agencies, the Potentur 2024 Convention was held in Cuba from June 4 to 8, the first of its kind to be held outside of Mexico.
This important event for Mexican tour operators was organized by the vertical wholesale travel agency Enjoy Travel Group, and was sponsored by the Cuban Ministry of Tourism, the Ecotur agency, the Iberostar chain and the Cubasol Business Group.
During the days of the event, participants had the opportunity to learn about the potential that Cuba has for the development of tourism. As part of the program, visitors toured places of interest in Havana, declared one of the Seven Wonder Cities of the World in 2016. They visited the emblematic Tropicana Cabaret where they enjoyed the internationally famous show, toured the Historic Center of the City and the historic Plaza de la Revolución. They visited Varadero, the main tourist center in the country, where they learned about the strengths that this enclave has for Sun and Beach tourism, one of the most in demand by international tourism. The program included an encounter with nature, visiting the province of Pinar del Rio and there the Viñales Valley, declared World Heritage by UNESCO in 1999, and where you can appreciate the best of Cuban nature, with its famous mogotes, small steep limestone mountains with rounded tops, as well as the Cuban tobacco plantations and their harvest and production process.
As Alexander Miguel González, representative of Enjoy Travel Group in Mexico City, explained to this press outlet, his company is very pleased to be able to organize this first Potentur Convention outside of Mexico and that Cuba has been chosen for this purpose. . The objective is to promote the Cuba destination in Mexico, to demonstrate that Cuba is not just Varadero, that it has a wide range of options such as its culture, the charms of Havana, its nature, the safety when walking through its streets and, above all, its people. .
