On November 10 and 11, the 6th will be held in Havana. International Cooperation Conference of the Association of Caribbean States, which has been convened under the central theme “The Greater Caribbean, building bridges of transformation and innovation towards a future of sustainable progress.”
The event aspires to be a favorable scenario for the exchange between representatives of Member States, Associates and Observers of the Association, as well as other guests, with the purpose of promoting North-South, South-South and triangular cooperation around the lines strategies of the Action Plan 2022 – 2028 approved and in the process of implementation by the ACS.
The aim is to stimulate the mobilization of resources for development cooperation, building regional projects with the intention of generating new dynamics in the economic, social, cultural, environmental and digital-technological spheres, which allow fostering resilience, in accordance with the Development Goals. Sustainable Development and the 2030 Agenda, seeking to improve the quality of life of the peoples that make up the Greater Caribbean.
The ACS is reinforced as an effective articulation scenario based on approaches of solidarity, mutual respect and the preservation of peace, in accordance with the Proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace, unanimously approved in the 2nd. CELAC Summit held in Havana, in January 2014.
The Cuban capital had already hosted, in 2017, the 1st. International Cooperation Conference, a meeting that set important guidelines for the promotion of cooperation in the sub regional environment, with the contribution of States and various entities from other geographical areas.
