Giammattei Announces That Measures Will Be Established to Contain Covid-19 Contagions
In his speech at the opening of a school in Chimaltenango, President Alejandro Giammattei said some measures will be implemented against the Covid-19 in the coming days.
Giammattei attended the opening of a school in Buena Vista village, Yepocapa, Chimaltenango.
The representative said the disease, if anyone’s already had it, can be repeated.
“As long as we don’t have 80 percent of the vaccine, we have to keep taking care of ourselves. You children are a generation that will have to change,” he said.
Giammattei said that some steps will soon be being taken to start containing the second wave of contagions.
“We looked before we came here with the Minister of Health, the numbers, and soon we will be taking steps to start curbing this second wave of contagion,” he said.
The representative’s statements were confirmed by Minister Amelia Flores, who after the Cabinet of Ministers meeting, explained that “moderate” restrictions will be given in the coming days to contain contagions.
“With regard to the worrying situation in cases, we told you that on the weekend we reviewed the trend on the number of municipalities on alert, something that was already expected according to what was announced in recent months. In red we have increased in 91 municipalities; let’s remember that Guatemala has many municipalities that are dormitories, and they are people who come and go carrying the virus,” Flores said.
He added that there are “severe moderate” patients, who need help from fans and scavengers and that it is not a “grace” to be hospitalized.
The representative set an example for Yepocapa and assured that the disease can only be contained with the responsibility of the citizens. (https://canalantigua.tv/giammattei-medidas-contagios-covid-19/?fbclid=IwAR26wZitcXm2pqc3xKVSYkKCIimdJHjsuM66nEVo4aS9qLOsTeAx2v7DMxo)
