Mexico’s tourism gross domestic product (GDP) increased 1.2 percent in the third quarter of 2024 compared to the same period a year earlier, the National Institute of Statistics and Geography reported today.
According to a statement from the agency, within the indicator, the goods component reflected an increase of 0.4 percent, while the services component rose 1.3.
In relation to the previous quarter, the institution reported a fall of 0.4 percent in real terms, based on a decrease of 1.7 in the goods tourism GDP and 0.1 in the services GDP.
According to official data, the so-called smokeless industry is showing its strength in this North American nation with the arrival of 40.2 million international tourists during January-November, 7.7 percent more than what was captured in 2023. (PL)
