Tourism Minister David Collado announced that the Dominican Republic welcomed 8,592,694 visitors between January and September 2025, marking a new milestone for the tourism sector and reaffirming its vital role in the national economy.

According to Collado, 6.57 million tourists arrived by air and 2 million by cruise, representing a 48% increase over 2019, 13% over 2023, and 2.6% over 2024. He celebrated the achievement as “another record” for the country’s tourism industry.

In September alone, 490,431 tourists arrived by air and 97,700 by sea. The United States remained the leading source market (38%), followed by Colombia (10%), Canada (8%), and Argentina (7%). Punta Cana Airport received 59% of arrivals, followed by Las Américas (25%) and Cibao (12%). (https://dominicantoday.com/dr/tourism/2025/10/06/dominican-republic-reports-4-6-growth-in-air-tourism/)
