The Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced it will be rebranding the Thompson Playa del Carmen Main House and Beach House into a new Hyatt Centric Playa del Carmen, expected to reopen by the end of this year.
The Hyatt Centric brand is a lifestyle brand aimed at taking center stage in destinations across the globe. The Hyatt Centric Playa del Carmen is located in the heart of the city on La Quinta Avenida, a street that stretches five miles long with shopping, entertainment, dining and nightlife.
The rebranded hotel will continue offering an adult-only retreat with the Downtown House and a family-friendly stay option with the Beach House. It will offer 119 rooms and suites, with 92 adults-only rooms and suites, and 27 family-friendly rooms and suites.
Suites will offer greater space, with living rooms, balconies and outdoor day beds or private plunge pools.
The adults-only Downtown House will offer a rooftop lounge and restaurant, UMI Urban Kitchen, and pool area, Alessia Dayclub, complete with an infinity pool, swim-up bar, cabanas and incredible views of the city and sea.
The family-friendly Beach House, meanwhile, will offer a beachfront location with an oceanfront pool and its signature C Grill. Hyatt Centric Playa del Carmen will also provide outdoor and semi-outdoor event spaces for weddings, buyouts, retreats and more.
“We are thrilled to join the growing Hyatt Centric brand and offer guests and World of Hyatt members a true launch pad that sparks curiosity to explore La Quinta Avenida and Playa del Carmen,” said Ankara Angulo, general manager, Hyatt Centric Playa del Carmen. “I look forward to leading this chapter of Hyatt Centric Playa del Carmen’s journey and introducing new experiences to this vibrant and dynamic beach town.” (https://www.travelpulse.com/news/hotels-and-resorts/thompson-playa-del-carmen-main-house-and-beach-house-to-be-rebranded-as-hyatt-centric-playa-del-carmen)
