Jamaica just topped the one million stopover visitor mark for 2024, a significant milestone for the island’s continued tourism boom.
So far this year, the island has posted just under 1.1 million stopover visitors, according to top tourism executive Donovan White.
The projection is for a total of 3.23 million stopover visitors for the calendar year, White said at a recent press conference at the CHTA’s Caribbean Travel Marketplace event in Montego Bay.
On the cruise side, Jamaica has already welcomed more than 700,000 visitors, with projections showing a total of 1.4 million cruise passenger arrivals by the end of this year.
The combined 1.7 million visitors in 2024 have already spent $1.8 billion, White said. (https://www.caribjournal.com/2024/06/28/jamaica-1-million-visitor-mark-stopover-2024/)
