Cuba. This Saturday, May 4th, the International Tourism Fair, FitCuba 2024, closed its doors, which for several days brought together ministers, ambassadors, and heads of delegations who participated in the 69th Meeting of the Commission for the Americas, convened by UN Tourism, as well as a significant number of tourism professionals worldwide.

With the presence of the Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero Cruz, the head of Tourism of Cuba, Juan Carlos García offered the closing words, where he took stock of the results and success of this tourist meeting.

FitCuba 2024 exceeded the expectations of the Cuban authorities, with a presence of 1,537 foreign professionals, including 437 travel agents on a familiarization visit, as well as 68 journalists from 12 countries. 68 countries participated, including Latin America and the Caribbean, with the most representative being Brazil, Mexico, Venezuela, and Colombia.

Currently, the International Tourism Fair allowed us to show the strengths of Cuban tourism, the digitalization of processes to improve the customer experience, the expansion of renewable energy sources, more accessible products, respect of the environment. and in line with the country’s commitment to comply with the Sustainable Development Goals.

Gracía Granda highlighted the adherence to the Tourist Protection Code, a sign of Cuba’s commitment to safe and peaceful tourism, as well as the Investment Guide Project in Cuba, presented by UN Tourism, and which is undoubtedly a great opportunity for tourism development and new business opportunities.

He pointed out the implementation starting this month of the new electronic visa system for tourism, which will replace the current one, and which seeks to speed up the international tourist flow to the country.

He thanked everyone who made the development of this event possible, especially President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez and Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero Cruz, for their support, a sign of the priority that this sector has for the development of the country, as well as well as the Organizing Committee, the hotel groups and other companies that made the success of this fair possible.

In the final moments, he announced that the 43rd edition of the International Tourism Fair, FitCuba 2024, will be held in Havana, will exhibit the traditions of Cuba as a product, and will be dedicated to China as a guest country of honor, informing the visa exemption for Chinese citizens holding ordinary passports.

Without a doubt, FitCuba 2024 showed the strong arm of tourism in Cuba, its benefits, potential, and capacity to offer visitors a pleasant stay, accompanied by its main capital, its people.
