Hotels managed by the Spanish chain Meliá are among the candidates for the international World Travel Awards, according to an official communiqué.

The release issued by the company on Thursday stressed that six establishments managed by Meliá Hotels International in Cuba are among the contenders for the World Travel Awards, recognized awards that are usually considered the Oscars of tourism.

For the 2024 edition of these awards, Meliá Cayo Coco and Meliá Cohiba are presented as Cuba’s Leading Hotels.

Both operate in the five-star category, the former is an all-inclusive hotel for adults only, located in the northern key of the central province of Ciego de Avila, and stands out for its proposals for weddings and romantic trips.

Meliá Cohiba, on the other hand, occupies a privileged location on Havana’s Malecón and is the perfect lodging for business travelers and lovers of good gastronomy.

In Cuba’s Leading Hotel Suite section, the Master Suite of the Level at Meliá Cohiba itself stands out, where carefully designed atmospheres, the best views of the sea, and the exclusive services of The Level, a superior attribute of the Meliá Hotels & Resorts brand, are combined.

Nominated for the award Leading Resort in Cuba are Paradisus Varadero and Paradisus Princesa del Mar, both with luxury service next to the most famous beach in the archipelago.

Both have comfortable Junior Suites or Suites, YHI Spa, gourmet gastronomy, and an interesting proposal of activities focused on personal growth and wellness.

Also competing are Paradisus Río de Oro a magical eco-resort for those over 18, located in the eastern province of Holguin- and Melia Las Dunas, which is surrounded by the exotic nature of Cayo Santa María and is very popular among family vacationers.

The World Travel Awards are granted taking into account the opinions of professionals, travelers, and scholars of the leisure industry.

The press release concludes by inviting Melia Cuba to leave an online vote in favor of the aforementioned accommodations (through the website https://www.worldtravelawards.com/nominees/2024/cuba), which will be open until April 7. (PL)
