Cuba. Organized by the Veracruz company Gran Retto and led by Taino Tours, Havanatur, the Cuban Ministry of Tourism, and Cubadeportes, the 3rd Gran Retto Open Water Series will take place in Varadero on September 14 and 15.

The event will be held on the beach strip of the Hotel Los Delfines, in Varadero, and to date there are about 350 participants confirmed, mainly from Mexico, Bahamas, Spain, Peru, Chile, Colombia, and Cuba.

At the last International Tourism Fair, FitCuba 2024, the commercial director of Gran Retto, Ana Ayari Martínez Vargas, commented to Periódico Digital Centroamericano y del Caribe that the event “has the challenge of promoting the development of this type of sports tourism in Cuba.”.

For her part, Angélica González, a specialist at the Taino Tour México travel agency, said that the company will offer affordable rates and packages to encourage participation.

This type of meeting seeks to promote the participation of swimmers, triathletes, clubs, swimming schools, and the general public in these open-water swimming competitions.

In future editions, we will expand the information.
