With Resounding Success, “Tianguis Turístico De México 2023” Comes to an End

From March 26 to 29, Mexico City hosted for the first time the 47th edition of the Tianguis Turístico 2023, which on this occasion broke historical records in business appointments with 88,432, 36 percent, more than in 2022.

Miguel Torruco Marqués, Secretary of Tourism of the government, stressed at a press conference that 2 thousand 338 delegates were registered, one thousand 383 companies, and 53 percent of the appointments concluded in sales in a figure that amounts to one thousand 240 million pesos.

On this occasion, 90 countries were present and a record number of exhibitors of 5,111 delegates from 429 companies were experienced.

Among the most requested products were cultural tourism (51%), nature tourism (42%), adventure tourism (35%), sun and beach tourism (35%), gastronomic tourism (32%), and meetings tourism (31%).

The best-selling destinations were Cancun (46%), Mexico City (41%), Rivera Maya (39%), Los Cabos (30%), Puerto Vallarta (29%), Merida (28%), Rivera Nayarit (28%), Guadalajara (26%), Oaxaca (26%) and Pueblos Mágicos (25%).

On the last day, with the presence of the authorities of Mexico City and Guerrero, the ceremony of Pass from Estafeta to Acapulco (Guerrero) was held, which will host the 48th edition of the Tianguis Turístico 2024.

The Secretary of Tourism of the government of Mexico, Miguel Torruco Marqués, recognized the success of this 47th edition of the Tianguis Turístico, “where all records were broken”, while recognizing the infrastructure, attractions and organizational capacity that Acapulco has to carry out the next edition of this important event.

It should be noted that the realization of the Tianguis Turístico 2023 in Mexico City registered a hotel occupancy of almost 70 percent, with the arrival of 150 thousand tourists in the last five days, generating a spill of one thousand 662 million pesos.

Torruco Marqués thanked the support provided by the head of the Government of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum, the Secretary of Tourism of the DF, Nathalie Desplas Puel, the private sector, the Organizing Committee and all the people who made possible the success of this event.
