Cuba. As part of the COCAL 2023 Congress, this Tuesday, June 4, the IMEX COCAL Future Leaders Forum was held at the Plaza América Convention Center in Varadero, where leaders of the national and foreign meetings industry shared with young people who are projected in this tourist modality.
Cuban and foreign students, who study different careers in universities in the country participated in this meeting, which shines for its enthusiasm and initiatives for the entrepreneurship of events, exchanges and congresses.
Foreign specialists, such as Luis Ricardo Martinez, president of COCAL Panama, Santiago Barrientos, president of ASOEVENTOS CEO Incontaco, from Colombia, and M.Sc. Eulogio Rodríguez Millares, first president of COCAL and professor of the Faculty of Tourism of the University of Havana, Vicky Marmolejo, 2nd COCAL vice president director of Business Development, among others, shared their experiences with the young leaders present at the plenary of Plaza América.
For the young Eldean Atiba Eudille, medical student at the University of Medical Sciences of Matanzas, and originally from Antigua and Barbuda, “this meeting is of great interest, it is not known in the future the possibilities it can offer, it gives us an idea of the organization of Congresses and Events in my medical career”, Said.
For the Cuban, Iran Dueñas, who is a student of the Faculty of Accounting and Finance of the University of Havana, and also president of the FEU of his faculty, “this type of event is of great importance, because it helps me develop as a person in terms of the organization of congresses and meetings, since by my position I must organize several events, related to teaching and research and this type of space helps my training a lot, “he said.
During the meeting, different activities were carried out aimed at motivating young people to venture into this tourist modality, massive games, competitions of typical Cuban dances and the preparation of an event, not missing in this first day that covered the whole day and that turned out to be a tourist party.
In the evening, the Minister of Tourism, Juan Carlos García Granda, welcomed the participants who were at the International Hotel in Varadero, venue of the event that will culminate this Thursday, June 6.
