Cuba and its Unica (Single) campaign are present for the first time at the Azerbaijan International Travel and Tourism Exhibition (AITF), Cuban Ambassador in Baku Carlos Valdes informed on Tuesday.
The diplomat told Prensa Latina that 44 entities from 15 nations will be present at this 19th edition of AITF, covering the areas of outbound, domestic and inbound tourism, as well as different sectors such as medical and health tourism, cruises, airlines, ministries and travel agencies and operators.
The 19th AITF was inaugurated on Tuesday at the Baku Exhibition Center and will be held for three days, Valdes said.
Cuba’s tourism counselor for Russia and the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Cristina Leon, said that although it is the first time that Cuba has presented a stand at the AITF, it has received visits from entities interested in Cuba’s potential.
According to Leon, Cuba is the only Latin American nation present in the 19th AITF edition, and it is the ideal scenario to present the novelties of Cuban tourism in one of the main events of the sector in the South Caucasus region.
Likewise, the Cuban representation has noted the interest shown by various stockholders to establish new contacts, expand the geography of sales, and increase partners and customers.
It should be noted that the Azerbaijan International Travel and Tourism Fair was awarded a quality mark by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, thus strengthening the international status of the AITF.
