A great number of sea animals are attracting attention at three recreation centers in Nicaragua; these are not new biological discoveries, but trash containers that are part of a campaign by the Ministry of Tourism.
The tourist resorts of Xiloa, El Trapiche and Pochomil, the latter a beach in the Pacific Ocean, have these turtle-shaped containers, whose dimensions reach up to five meters, reports El 19 Digital.
The installation of these brand-new containers is intended to raise awareness among holidaymakers about significance of keeping Nicaragua’s tourist destinations clean. The idea is to create awareness in people to keep clean (the environment), according to Minister of Tourism, Anasha Campbell.
La Boquita (beach), Xilonem, close to the capital, and Granada, the colonial city of this Central American nation, will be the next spots to be equipped with the new and attractive waste collection system, reported the Tourism Ministry.
