Former German footballer Franz Beckenbauer’s health is deteriorating. Former German football icon Franz Beckenbauer is in poor health, according to statements by his brother Walter that were published by local media on Sunday. Walter Beckenbauer said that his brother was not feeling well; if he said that his brother was okay, he would be lying, which confirms that the health of the legend of German football is not improving. Franz Beckenbauer has not been seen in public for a long time and could not even attend the World Cup in Qatar in December 2022. “The Kaiser (emperor in German),” as the 78-year-old former football player is known, explained at the time that he could not attend the World Cup because he had suffered an “infarction in his right eye,” after which he could not see and also had to take care of his heart. Beckenbauer, who won the 1974 World Cup as a player and the 1990 World Cup as a coach, spent most of his career with the Bayern Munich club. He retired from public life and now lives in Austria.
