Despite not reaching this year’s final, Roger Federer remained one of the biggest fan favorites at the Shanghai Masters. The winner of 20 Grand Slam titles and 102 career trophies is still going strong at the age of 38 and says he hopes to keep playing for several more seasons. The 2008 Olympic gold medalist in doubles also told Wang Dong in the latest edition of CGTN’s Beyond the Baseline that he’s setting his sights on claiming singles gold next summer’s games in Tokyo. “I try to be extremely in a perfect shape, make sure to sleep enough, have a good time with my family and friends, not just go through the daily routines which become boring,” Federer said. “My family is my No. 1 priority; it’s always been clear for me.” The Swiss player is still striving for more titles as a new generation knocks on the door. “I’m trying to achieve as much as possible that I can,” he said. “It is cool to get the 100 titles’ achievement in Dubai this year. But, of course, if I’m on the tour, I’ll try to win more Grand Slams and other titles.”
