Haiti has some 200 beds available to isolate coronavirus cases and confront a possible spreading of COVID-19, which is already present in several countries of the region, authorities said on Monday.
At a press conference at the National Palace, President Jovenel Moïse noted the need to set up a Public/Private Working Group to provide concrete responses against the epidemic, which has already killed 3,000 people and has infected 90,000, mainly in China.
Health Minister Marie Greta Roy Clement confirmed that there are 200 beds available in several departments of the country, in case COVID-19 patients are reported in the country, although their locations of the hospitals were not revealed due to security reasons, she added.
