In order to identify potential infested by Covid-19, the Cuban authorities have launched virtual research through a simple app where the person with some respiratory symptoms can access it.
As explained by Dr. Francisco Durán, National Director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health, the application includes a group of variables that the person with symptoms must fill out and send online to a database, which is received by the public health authorities who immediately contact this person.
In this way the Cuban population can actively participate in the research, being able to detect in time as many people as possible of people suspected of contracting Covid-19.
The application is named Virtual Research, and was developed by the University of Computer Sciences, in conjunction with the ministries of Public Health and Communications.
However, health authorities conduct an individual search where medical students and specialized doctors visit citizens in places of residence to find out if anyone has had respiratory symptoms.
In order to use this virtual application, the person must be over 18 years of age and in legal capacity.
