Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez today condemned the United States campaign against the island’s medical collaboration, which affects the right to health of 67 million people in Latin America.
The suspension of Cuban medical cooperation imposed on several countries in Our America has seriously affected the medical care of 67 million people,’ the head of diplomacy wrote on his Twitter account.
According to Rodriguez, the U.S. government is not only attacking the Caribbean island for political reasons, but also violating the Latin American people’s right to health.
The Cuban Foreign Ministry thus insisted on denouncing Washington’s crusade against the island’s international medical collaboration, which favors other nations’ needy.
In recent months, Brazil, Bolivia and Ecuador gave in to the hostile stance of the White House towards Cuba, a scenario that put an end to the assistance of Cuban professionals in those territories.
Meanwhile, Cuba has reiterated its willingness to save lives in other latitudes on the basis of legitimate intergovernmental cooperation programs. (PL)
