Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez rejected the US interference and threats against Venezuela, which included unilateral and coercive measures against the Bolivarian nation.
On his X account, Minister Rodriguez expressed Cuba’s solidarity with the Venezuelan people and government.
In a recent communique, Venezuela’s Foreign Ministry denounced that Washington is using coercion and threats to impose coup-related interests, disregard Venezuelan institutions, and impose new coercive measures to destabilize the country’s economy and the welfare of the people, PL news agency reported.
The Venezuelan parliament unanimously passed an accord rejecting any kind of interference with the country’s domestic affairs and any kind of ultimatum launched by Washington.
The action of the Venezuelan parliament follows US announcements setting a deadline next April for Venezuela to honor the accords of Barbados, signed with the opposition Plataforma Unitaria Democratica.
Also included is the decision by the US State Department Office for Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) to inform the modification of a license that allowed a limited six-month permit to Venezuela’s mining company, Compañia General de Mineria, to do production and commercialization transactions with its gold.
The parliamentary accord rejected any form of ultimatum by the US government echoing the violent extremism of local ultra-right and fascist oligarchies.
The accord also backs the accord of Barbados signed October 17, 2023, to hod presidential elections this year in tune with the Venezuelan Constitution.
