•          The airline will restart two weekly flights to both capitals in March, and will increase to three from June those connecting Madrid with Tunisia.

•          The airline is expanding its operations on the continent, where it has just entered into a code-share agreement with Kenya Airways to fly from Madrid to Nairobi via Amsterdam.

Air Europa restarts its operations in North Africa and does so with a wide range of seats. From Madrid-Barajas Airport, the company will once again operate two weekly frequencies to Marrakech and Tunis from 21 and 27 March, respectively. In the case of the Tunisian capital, the number of flights will be increased in June with an additional frequency. In all, more than 22,400 seats will be available this year to Morocco and more than 28,600 to Tunisia, which means exceeding 51,000 seats.

The routes to Marrakech and Tunis will be operational until the end of October and will allow to respond to the high demand that both tourist destinations have been registering since they came into service. Flights to the Moroccan capital began in 2017, while those connecting Madrid with Tunisia launched in 2019. In this latter case, the success of the route last year was reflected in an average occupancy rate of more than 87%.

To offer this service, Air Europa will operate its Boeing 737 fleet. This single-aisle model represents the most efficient way to cover short and medium-haul routes, balancing a high volume of passenger traffic with a responsible use of fuel.

Air Europa’s role in North Africa will be further enhanced this year by the recent codeshare agreement with Kenya Airways. Thanks to this, the airline’s customers will be able to fly to Nairobi from Madrid on a connecting flight from Amsterdam, widening its range of destinations on the continent using a single ticket.
