Starting on December 9, Aeromexico will begin operations between Mexico City and Chetumal, with a daily flight.
Chetumal is the capital of Quintana Roo and together with other destinations; Bacalar and Mahahual make up the Grand Costa Maya, located in the southern part of the Mexican Caribbean. Its nature, lagoon systems, beaches, history, culture, archaeological sites and the attractions that each one of them offers make this area a true paradise for relaxation, adventure and fun, with the warmth and hospitality of all its people.
The Governor of Quintana Roo, Carlos Joaquin Gonzalez, said:
“I am very pleased that Aeromexico is resuming this flight, which is very important in terms of connectivity. It will help us improve hotel occupancy levels and generate greater investment in the southern part of the state”.
“The arrival of Aeromexico is great news for the south of the state, which with its allies and with all its connectivity will be linking the state capital with South America, the rest of the country and North America” added Mr. Darío Jesus Flota, General Director of the Tourism Promotion Council of Quintana Roo.
Giancarlo Mullineli, Senior Vice President of Global Sales at Aeromexico, said:
“Quintana Roo is one of the most important states for tourism, not only in Mexico but in the world. We will continue coordinating efforts with the State Government to strengthen connectivity in their destinations”.
With the incorporation of this new route, starting in December the company will connect with two of the most relevant destinations in Quintana Roo such as Cancun and Chetumal, with an offer of more than 130 weekly flights from Mexico City, Monterrey, Guadalajara, and Tijuana.
