Cuban Delegation at the 43rd Edition of Fitur 2023 Developed an Intense Agenda to Boost Tourism Activity

Cuba. The main tourism event, Fitur 2023, took place at the IFEMA fairgrounds in Spain from January 18 to 22 and Cuba was present with an important delegation, headed by the Minister of Tourism, Juan Carlos García Granda.

During the participation, García Granda held important meetings with delegations from other countries, while presenting the Cuba Única campaign, which shows all the strengths that Cuba has to be a different and preferred destination in the Caribbean. It highlights the hospitality of its people, the security of the tourist, the rich Cuban culture, its gastronomy, nature and heritage, its spectacular beaches, the conditions for the development of tourism of events and conventions, and an important infrastructure to please the most demanding tourist.

“We have developed a broad and intense work agenda during #Fitur2023, in pursuit of new projects to boost our tourism activity. We are proud to work for the benefit of the #turismo of #CubaUnica,” Cuba’s tourism minister wrote on Twitter.

Among the activities developed in Fitur 2023 highlights the launch of the Varadero spa and its night resuscitation, the main tourist pole of Cuba and internationally recognized.

A representation of Cuban hotel chains and companies linked to tourism, such as Cubanacan, Gran Caribe, Havanatur, Islazul, and the Cuban Medical Services Marketer, participated in this important event, who showed the characteristics of their products and held meetings with travel agencies and foreign companies interested in Cuba.

According to official figures, this event had the participation of more than 130 countries, with 8,500 companies, 755 owners, with an economic impact in Spain of about 400 million euros, and a historical record of 146 thousand visits on the web only on the first day. On this occasion the guest country of honor was Guatemala, which received the award for the best stand.

Fitur 2023 closes its doors with more than 222 thousand attendees, double the year 2022, reaffirming its position as the most important fair in the tourism sector.
