UN Secretary General Rejects Inclusion of Cuba In List of Countries Sponsors of Terrorism
The Secretary General of the United Nations, António Guterres, opposes the inclusion of Cuba in the list of countries sponsors of Terrorism, by the United States. Spokesman Stéphane Dujarric reported that the UN head held, this week, a conversation with the permanent representative of Cuba, Pedro Luis Pedroso.
Guterres expressed his confidence that the new US president, Joe Biden, will reverse Washington’s measure, the EFE news agency was quoted as saying by Radio Habana Cuba.
The international community rejects the designation of Cuba as a country sponsor of terrorism; that seeks to hinder possible steps in relations with the United States, and to discredit the Caribbean nation before the international community.
